I am looking for opinions on those automatic (robotic) vacuum cleaners.?

The kind you see advertised on TV, they look so (too) convenient just turn them on and let them roam around your house looking for dust bunnies. I want to know if anyone here has tried them and what you think. they look too good to be true. But you never know? they might actually be a good thing. I just don't want to waste my money on a piece of junk that will collect dust instead of clean it up, if you know what I mean.

I don't have enough carpet for a Roomba, but the iRobot Scooba -- the floor-washing one -- is a dream.

If you mean the thing with a ball in the middle, it doesn't seem to be very good, given the reviews. Most people seem to be quite happy with their Roombas, though.
